Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George looks set to begin his season Monday at the Phoenix Suns, barring a possible setback, according to sources close to ESPN on Sunday.

George, a nine-time NBA All-Star, has not played since he came up limping and left after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee in the second quarter of a preseason game on October 14 against the Atlanta Hawk .

Investigations revealed no structural alteration in these; b. Motor vehicle examinations also failed to reveal any structural change. George, 34, played in a 5-on-5 scrimmage on Friday and took part in practice on Sunday in Phoenix. The team then posted him as doubtful for Monday’s game.

The 76ers begin a three-game western road trip in Phoenix before heading to play the Clippers on Wednesday in George’s first return to Los Angeles since leaving the Clippers last summer to sign a four-year, $212 million contract with the Sixers in free agency.

Philadelphia’s run ends Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 76ers, who also have been without former league MVP Joel Embiid due to a left knee injury, are 1-4 on the season.

Former University of Gonzaga star Joel Embiid will miss Monday’s game, says the team.
