TAMU and its new starting quarterback, Marcel Reed, were kept to 129 yards and less in the second half, while the Gamecocks racked up 275 of their total yards in that half. Behind center, Lanorris Sellers, South Carolina averaged nearly nine yards a play in the second half as the Aggies appeared to have no answer for the Gamecocks’ ground game.
Sellers passed for 244 yards and two more touchdowns and he rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown. The Aggies could not lay a hand on Sellers, and the team was able to sack the Lions all night. The Texas A&M Aggies were 7-2 going into their game against the Razorbacks but fell to their first loss in the SEC.
The Aggies will though have the benefit of not playing the following week to get back into the swing they need for the rest of the season. South Carolina is currently at 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the SEC, and more importantly, the rest of the team will have a shot at a tough Vanderbilt team next week in Nashville with a lot of momentum after this win.
