Dead Pool & Wolverine 2 has been reported to already in discussion

Two minds of course have no say in this matter. Well, Deadpool and Wolverine is one of the best Marvel movies in the Multiverse Saga. It personally is my favorite, however, I could see why some Spider-Man fans might like No Way Home better than Deadpool 3.

Both of the movies also minted a goldmine at the ticket window, and Spidey’s nearly $2 billion take emerged victorious. At the time of my writing this, Deadpool & Wolverine has grossed over $1.33 billion. As the film is now playing in cinemas, it will never break No Way Home’s record. Not even this film achieves $1 billion and indeed, none of the films from the MCU launched so far, and probably Doctor Strange 2 is the closest.

That means, in my mind that is, a Deadpool and Wolverine 2 movie makes all the sense in the world because fans of the Marvel comics universe want to see those characters together in one film.
It’s also pretty evident that Marvel still knows how to tell good stories, as it is with the case of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is as good as it can get with the big challenge of unifying the Fox and MCU realities. After all, a sequel of Deadpool & Wolverine would be an opportunity to do away with certain inconsistencies in plots that the movie cannot avoid.

Marvel is supposedly in talks over a sequel. At least to make its claim at all believable, one reliable insider of the matter himself can say the following as we haven’t got much to go on with this. It’s not quite clear where such a Deadpool & Wolverine 2, or would we actually prefer calling it a Deadpool 4?, could fit into the already overcrowded schedule of the ongoing Multiverse Saga. Spoilers below:.

Marvel and Sony quickly confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is in the works with Tom Holland starring. It came late 2021 with No Way Home still in theaters. We did not have any similar sequel confirmations from Marvel or the stars of Deadpool 3. In fact, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been chary about confirming speculation they’ll appear in other Marvel projects, such as the upcoming Avengers movies.

A MyTimeToShineHello report a few days ago said that Deadpool and Wolverine would only share a minor role in Doomsday, but they would feature much more prominently in Secret Wars. I can explain recently how that makes total sense, with how their respective stories ought to be done.

Doomsday will be the movie where the Avengers lose again. This time, it will not be Thanos (Josh Brolin) but Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) who will succeed this time. Secret Wars would then give us such a humongous war just like we have seen in the Endgame film. Deadpool and Wolverine would also have to join the Avengers in those movies.

MTTSH tweeted that there may be a sequel for Deadpool & Wolverine. You can see here it lacks much context.

Something positive coming out from that ending to the original. Evidently, since Deadpool & Wolverine ended in a manner, it really answers the problem. This is a version of Wolverine who stayed with Deadpool and did not go back to his timeline in this universe, where he remained in Earth-10005. This raises a plot issue since Logan should be alive in his timeline.

Still, what I’m getting at is that the two mutants managed to save an entire timeline from inevitable extinction. In fact, the death of that reality’s Logan put the entire timeline on a path of slow self-destruction.

The TVA noted all that. These two are surely included in some list of gifted people who might help save the multiverse in the future. It is most probably the reason why these two variants of Deadpool and Wolverine will join the Avengers soon.

In the real world, Marvel appears to be planning on starting filming Doomsday soon, in the next calendar year.

Sony and Marvel will start filming Spider-Man 4 sometime next May. Both should reach theaters by 2026, though the latter has no release date announced.

Secret Wars will be released in May 2027, a year after Avengers 5.

It would be interesting to know if Marvel could fit this movie into its plans for the Multiverse Saga if the plans for the sequel of Deadpool & Wolverine are true. It would be fantastic if they could present the film by the time that Secret Wars breaks. Still, we do not want Marvel to rush things. It wasn’t exactly the best idea to have a crowded release schedule over the last couple of years of the Multiverse Saga.

Conclusion:

The news that Deadpool & Wolverine 2 is already under discussion has sparked significant excitement in the Marvel fandom. With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their iconic roles, fans are eager to see how their dynamic will evolve in the potential sequel. The combination of Deadpool’s humor and Wolverine’s grit promises another blockbuster hit, further enriching the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While details are still scarce, the anticipation for this possible follow-up is undeniable.
