“Soon after that, we all kind of got this vibe from my brother that he didn’t want his body in this house anymore,” Riley writes. ‘Guys,’ he appeared to say, ‘this is becoming weird.’

In a health crisis, Ben Keough drove Lisa Marie cross-country to do drugs.

Lisa Marie took 80 medications a day at her worst after having twin children in 2008.

“My whole life had blown up, it felt like one thing after another, and I could not take any more beatings,” she writes.

Riley adds that she often went to Graceland and slept in Elvis’ bed. She wanted protection and love from her father. She used to go to church, lost, saying, “Please, Jesus, help me.

With her health failing, Ben borrowed a Nashville tour bus to drive Lisa Marie and the babies out to LA for medical treatment. “We drove because I wanted to do cocaine the whole time and couldn’t on an airplane,” she wrote. “I didn’t think I could pass airport security.”

Lisa Marie had weight-loss bariatric surgery in rehab that killed her from a tiny bowel obstruction.

Ben sent Lisa Marie a message two weeks before suicide; his mental health was failing.

“I think something is wrong with me mentally or something like that,” Ben told her. “I feel like I have mental illness.”

Riley said, writing and drugs just kept him from realizing his despair until it was too late. “He never went to therapy. He had never tried to kill himself before, nor overdosed. Quit seeking help.”

Riley says that “we all knew my mom was going to die of a broken heart,” but Lisa Marie stayed sober.
